SQA Qualifications

The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is the national accreditation and awarding body in Scotland; they are a not-for-profit government agency accountable to the Scottish Government, responsible for developing, accrediting, assessing and certificating Scottish qualifications. SQA’s purpose is to help people around the world fulfil their potential and maintain standards across Scottish education, engaging with industry, learners, schools, colleges and training providers globally to develop, maintain, and improve a framework of qualifications, and to set and maintain standards for many other awarding bodies, and accredited qualifications.

Business and Administration Level 5

The SVQ in Business and Administration at SCQF level 5 involves a range of activities with some degree of complexity and limited autonomy.

Planning and Delivering Training to Groups

This Unit has been designed as an initial qualification for those with limited or no prior experience of planning and delivering training.  Job roles includes the training of others in small group settings and in work-related learning contexts.

The SVQ in Business and Administration at SCQF level 6 involves a range of activities with some degree of complexity and limited autonomy.

L&D9D Assess Workplace Competence Using Direct Methods

This Unit is for those who assess in the workplace using the following assessment methods observation and questioning and/or inspecting work products

Business and Administration Level 8

It is envisaged that suitable candidates will have fairly broad roles and responsibilities in relation to the level 8. They are likely to hold Officer/Managerial or Executive job titles.

L&D9Di Assess Workplace Competence Using Direct and Indirect Methods

This Unit is for those who assess in the workplace using a wide range of assessment methods, both direct and indirect.

Conduct the Assessment Process (non SVQ assessments)

This Unit is for assessor-candidates who are assessing learners in a classroom or other off-job training environments such as training centres and workshops.

Conduct the Internal Verification Process (non SVQ assessments)

This Unit is for verifier-candidates who are internally verifying the assessment process and practice in a classroom or other off-job training environments such as training centres and workshops.

L&D11 Internally Monitor and Maintain the Quality of Workplace Assessment

This Unit is for those monitoring assessment processes and decisions within an organisation and helping to maintain and improve the quality of workplace assessment.
